Tuesday Prepnet Countdown

The calendar says that it is Tuesday so that must mean there is another great Jars Prep net coming up at 2100 EDT tonight.  Lately we have covered some interesting topics and I was reading around lately the following two articles stuck out to me and should be talked about a little more in depth.

5 map & compass navigation tips for preppers

While this is not about how to use a sextant to get around it does have some great points. I am pretty certain anyone that has done some orienteering will agree these are fairly good.

If you are not familiar with the term orienteering or are rusty at the practical application then click the PTT button and chime in.

Perhaps if there is enough interest we can set up a class or contest utilizing the skills.

Electrical Grid maybe the next wars battlefield

This is a great article about how the power that we have all come to depend on may disappear or how fragile it really is. If you are not prepping for alternative power you should listen to some of the valued resources that are already doing it and share with the Jars Prep Net.

Hopefully these will put us all in a talkative mood. Please plan on tuning in tonight at 9:00 PM on the AK4H repeater as we have our weekly rag chew about preparedness. Whether you enjoy listening on your radio, scanner, or even echolink it is a check in driven net so if you have your technician license or higher feel free to hit the PTT button. If you have not gotten your ticket yet please let us know what we can do to help.
