I’ve finished my 80% AR-15 and when I say finished I mean completed and painted. The finish is Duracoat Olive Drab. This is the second time I’ve used Duracoat. The first time was a 2 part mix applied with an airbrush. This time I used the Shake and Spray can which has the two parts separated within the can. You push a button on the bottom of the can which released the hardener within the can. Shake it up and apply just like any other spray paint. Duracoat is impressive stuff. I coated 2 AR Lowers and and a 30 Cal suppressor. It’s the toughest sprayed on finish I’ve ever seen. It’s also quite expensive at about $30 for a standard sized spray can. Even at that price I’ll be happy to use it again. As for the Lower, it’s only been dry fired but I have no reason to believe it shouldn’t function perfectly. The lower was from aresarmor.com
There has been a lot of talk lately about sending mail over radio and whether that is needed or not. One practical concern is being able to run laptops without power. I know there are several that are on the Might 27 that already do this. Feel free to chime in and let me know your thoughts.

I got this gadget for Christmas and have just now tried it out. It’s the Powerbank from Boombox. You charge it from any USB port and it will recharge your phone later when you are away from AC charging power. It also has a built in flashlight. A red/green/blue LED lets you know if it’s charging itself from a USB port, when it’s fully charged and when it’s charging your phone or other device. I’m not sure where my gift giver got this but as Neil WA4A…Z…….L says “Google is your friend”.

RE: Full Hour EMP Program on FOX Tonight at 9 ET ( with several from Dupont Summit; House EMP Hearing Postponed
TV coverage: I just received confirmation that several who presented at the EMP SIG Dupont Summit Conference Dec 6, 2013 will appear on a full hour TV program from FOX TV program tonight (Saturday Feb. 22, 2014) at 9 PM Eastern. The name of the program is “Justice by Judge Jeanine” and is reported to have lined up a couple of US Congressional members and several who spoke at the InfraGard National EMP SIG Dupont Summit.
